Physical Assault of Letter Carrier

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect who physically assaulted a U.S. Postal Service letter carrier.

On 5/1/10 at about 1:00 pm, an unknown suspect (composite above) assaulted the letter carrier delivering mail at the Pinewood Park apartments. The suspect, armed with a silver handgun, jumped a fence and disappeared into one of the apartment complexes along Columbia Avenue.

The suspect is described as a dark skinned black male (approximately 30 years old), thin, approximately 6’0” tall with a “scruffy” beard, wearing a dark T-shirt and dark blue jean “style” pants and possibly wearing a scull cap.
