The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual who fatally shot a U.S. Postal Service letter carrier while he was delivering mail on his assigned route in Cheverly, MD.
This incident occurred at approximately 7:20 p.m. on November 23, 2013, in the 6000 block of Reed Road in Cheverly, MD 20785. Any person who kills or attempts to kill an officer or employee of the United States while the employee is engaged in the performance of his or her official duties may be sentenced to the death penalty (18 USC 1114).
