Reward up to $25,000

ARMED ROBBERY/ASSAULT OF LETTER CARRIER

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect who assaulted and attempted to rob a USPS letter carrier while she was delivering mail in the area of Halpine Road and Alsace Lane in the Twinbrook area of Rockville, MD, on Monday, December 8, 2008 at 2:46PM.

According to the victim, the suspect spoke Spanish when he announced the robbery. The suspect showed a knife and attempted to rob the victim. The victim grabbed for the knife and was stabbed in the abdomen. The suspect then entered the passenger side of a vehicle similar to the one pictured above. This is a joint investigation of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and the Rockville City Police Department. The suspect and vehicle were described as:

SUSPECT - Hispanic male, 30, 5’ 7”, medium build, unshaven. Black nylon jacket and black winter cap. Armed with a knife.
