POSTAL INSPECTORS OFFER UP TO $10,000 REWARD
FOR INFORMATION ON
CLAREMONT POST OFFICE BURGLARY

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for a burglary at the Claremont Main Post Office. The Post Office, located at 140 Harvard Ave, Claremont, CA, was burglarized at approximately 11:55 p.m., Sunday, June 19, 2011.

Anyone with information about this crime is urged to contact Postal Inspectors at 877-876-2455, option 2, and refer to Case No. 1881035. Callers may remain anonymous.

Customers who deposited mail at the Claremont Main Post Office between the hours of 5:00 p.m. Saturday, June 18, and 11:55 p.m. Sunday, June 19, 2011 are encouraged to submit a Mail Theft Complaint at their local Post Office, online at postalinspectors.uspis.gov or by calling 1-877-876-2455, option 3.

Burglary of a Post Office is a federal crime, and offenders will be fined or imprisoned for up to five years, or both. The suspect(s) may face additional charges for mail theft and identity theft. Postal Inspectors urge the public to report suspicious individuals or activity near or around postal facilities at 877-876-2455, option 2.

This crime is being investigated by U.S. Postal Inspectors and the Claremont Police Department.
